MSAD held Joint Body Meeting; pay two minutes condolence to Judge Ashok Potsangbam - the first MSAD President
MSAD held a Join body Joint Body Meeting (JBM) on 24 April 2022 at Shaheed Bhagat Park to discuss MSAD activities and concerns of the present tenure.
The meeting was presided by Mr. Somenanda Khangchrakpam, the Vice President, MSAD started with a welcome address, and the following are the agendas and the respective decisions of the JBM.
Agenda 1: Working on present tenure.
Resolute: The JBM collectively decides that the executives send to the advisors a memorandum that contains substantial evidence and documents regarding the financial conditions and for seeking the extension of their present tenure. The response of the advisors will be further discussed in another JBM. Further, in case of a positive response from the advisors, the JBM suggests that a new committee will be formed the purpose of which is assistance to the present executives and for a better organization and mobilization for the next tenure.
Agenda 2: Announcement & discussion of upcoming event calendar w.e.f. the month of June
Resolute: After drafting a rough calendar that will be brought to the next JBM for a further discussion on its details on feasibility and budgeting, the importance to be highlighted is the revival of Wakchinggi Nong - an MSAD cultural program and a proposal of a debate or seminar for the awareness on the various Black days among the communities of Manipur.
Agenda 3: Inactive functioning of some advisors and executives
Resolute: The JBM suggests a formal explanation call on the inactive advisors and an informal one for the inactive executives since the tenure has formally ended giving room for flexibility and inclusiveness on their parts.
For inactive executive members, that is General Secretary, he will be asked by the advisors to clarify what would be his role as a General Secretary in case the tenure is extended. And as for inactive advisors, if any advisor lives outside Delhi at the present and he/she has another year, then his/ her remaining one year shall be reviewed by the new EC members to increase the efficiency of the board of advisors.
Agenda 4: Counselling session for UG in Manipur.
Resolute: The JBM appreciates the initiative to conduct a counseling session. However, with the adoption of a CET for the Du for the first time this year, the JBM unanimously agree that counseling would be in collaboration with professional coaching institutes.
Agenda 5: Misc:-
(i) Maheiroi
(ii) Souvenir
(iii) Audit committee
Resolute: (i) With a brief discussion on the structural and organizational behavior of Maheiroi, the editorial board will be finalized this week. The board will start their work shortly soon hereafter.
(ii) A report on Souvenir indicates that besides some of the pieces left for submission from the editorial board members and otherwise ready for publication, the board has yet to decide on the themes and title of the work.
(iii) An Audit Committee will soon be formed to review the financial statements of the upcoming as well as the past events.
The meeting ended with a vote of thanks from the Vice President and a one-minute silence to show our condolences on the demise of former Judge Ashok Potsangbam who was the first MSAD President.
