Mustard oil Extraction Unit Inaugurated at Awang Potshangbam Khullen
Imphal, 4th May 2022: Th. Kirankumar Singh, IAS, DC, Imphal West, Govt. of Manipur inaugurated a Mustard oil Extraction Unit at Awang Potshangbam Khullen, Imphal West district today with the view to produce quality oil and meet the demands of the people.
ICICI Foundation gives its support to the Mustard Oil Extraction Unit, run and managed by Yumbi Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited, Awang Potshangbam Khullen, Imphal West. The unit is also equipped with a cold press oil Extraction machine, a hot press oil Extraction unit, and an oil filtration unit.
During the inauguration program, the DC has asked the producers to produce quality oil to meet the market demand. Also, community participation in producing raw material to run the processing unit year-round is important, urging DC.
Mr. Amarjit Rajkumar, DFO, Central Forest Division aware of each member present in the meeting and the privilege of having a development program like ICICI Foundation Rural Livelihood in the state and urge all shareholders to take ownership of any initiative taken up by ICICI Foundation in the area.
I Meghachandra, Jt Director, ICAR also highlights the importance of FPO and aware each shareholder of its importance in running the FPO. He appreciates the work done by ICICI Foundation in supporting rural farmers to uplift their livelihood opportunities with such business ideas.
The event was ended on a high note with a commitment from the FPO representative, Mr. Wahengbamit Singh that they will give their full energy to make this Mustard oil processing unit a grand success.
