Noney Battalion organizes free medical camp at village Rongkhong-II.

Noney Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 22 Sector Assam Rifles and Inspector General of Assam Rifles (East) organized a Free Medical Camp at Village Rongkhong-II on 05 May 2022 to aid inhabitants of Villages Rongkhong-II and Rongkhong-III and spread awareness about water-borne diseases and preventive actions pertaining to the arrival of early monsoon.

Keeping in mind the problems faced by remote villagers due to the COVID-19 pandemic and common morbidities of monsoon season affecting the local populace, Noney Battalion organized a free medical camp to provide medical assistance and also distributed medicines to the villagers at Village Rongkhong-II and surrounding areas. The Free Medical Camp commenced with an informative lecture on ‘Justice for Health’ where locals were enlightened on basic healthcare issues including precautions against viral diseases and COVID Appropriate Behaviour as well as the importance of Hygiene and Sanitation for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

A total of 63 civilians (17 Male, 20 females & 26 Children) were given treatment and were distributed free medicines. The Campaign also emphasized the dissemination of info on various guidelines issued by the health authorities along with the ongoing vaccination drive being carried out. All COVID-19 precautionary measures were followed during the campaign. The Chairman along with the secretary of both villages conveyed their regards and appreciated the initiative and effort of the Battalion in organizing and smooth conduct of the medical camp.
