Family Court Shifted to District & Sessions Court: Association Withdraws All its Protest Movements till 30th June
Thoubal, 27th April 2022: With the shifting of the family court to the newly constructed building in the complex of District & Sessions Court, the Bar Association has withdrawn all its protest movements till 30th June 2022.
The Bar Association sought the government to shift the family court to a proper place other than the DC Complex in Thoubal. It also demanded the appointment of a Regular Judge and Chief Judicial Magistrate for the proper functioning and exercise of the family court.
Therein, the government approved the shifting of the family court to a new building at the complex of District & Sessions Court on 24th April. And the family court began its operation the next day.
While speaking to media persons, Khangembam Arunkumar- the Vice President of the Bar Association said that the Family Court was inaugurated on 17th July 2017 by Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren at DC Complex Thoubal and handed over to the people. However, the court- was in an unfavorable region, and the judges and the clients found it difficult to hear cases. At this, the BAR Association sought the government shifting of the court to a proper place. The association also demanded the appointment of a Regular Judge and Chief Judicial Magistrate for the proper functioning of the family court in a democratic way.
After years of protest movements, the authority approved the association to shift the family court to the new building of the District & Sessions Court on 24th April. The association shifted and began its service the next day from 25th April 2022 in the new building, added the Vice President of the association.
Meanwhile, the President of the Bar Association has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the concerned authorities like Chief Minister N. Biren, District & Sessions Judge, Thoubal) District BAR Association.
